UMPhysicians Lead Radiation Therapist (University of MN Medical Center) in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Lead Radiation Therapist (RTT) is accountable for the coordination of all radiation therapist activities on a day-to-day basis. Provides direct daily supervision to the radiation therapist. They will also serve as a mentor by coaching, evaluating, counseling and educating team members. Coordinates schedules and maintains a timely and efficient flow within the treatment schedule. Monitors labor, productivity, adjusts staffing schedules to maintain within budgeted parameters based on volumes. This person will serve as the team leader in the absence of the site leader. Represents leader/department at meetings as necessary, and will work with the manager to monitor patient and staff satisfaction surveys and keeping radiation therapists informed of pertinent information. Under the direction of the department manager, assumes additional responsibilities to support the clinic. What you will do as a Lead Radiation Therapist: Performs all responsibilities of a staff radiation therapist and maintains their ARRT registration Demonstrating effective time management and appropriate use of resources Assists other therapists in resolving questions regarding patient setup or treatment Seeks and offers learning opportunities to meet identified needs of self and RTT's and monitors in-service training programs Maintains appropriate staffing by adjusting to meet the needs of patient volumes Serves as project lead for implementation and management of departmental record and verification system as well as other appropriate departmental projects Participates in the hiring process of Radiation Therapists Knowledgeable and able to assist in scheduling of special procedures and helps resolve other scheduling issues What you will need: Registered with the ARRT as a Radiation Therapist 5+ years of increasingly complex Radiation Therapy experience and leadership/mentoring skills Proven ability to work well with providers and other team members Excellent customer service and patient relations skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledgeable about computer programs such as Microsoft Office Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Proven Quality Assurance program leadership High level of professionalism, conscientiousness, integrity and willingness to learn Location: Radiation Oncology Clinic, University of MN Medical Center - East Bank Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week Sign-On Bonus: $5000 Bonus may be available to qualified applicants Benefits: This is a fully benefit eligible position: Competitive wages, Healthcare (including vision & dental), 401K, parking & tuition assistance and more!
