Job Title: Lead Mill Machinist
Job Description
A contract manufacturer specializing in aerospace and defense products is searching for a Lead Mill Machinist. This role involves supporting milling work centers, running daily reports, coordinating job scheduling, and ensuring the availability of materials and tooling. The position also includes coordinating with other department leads, maintaining quality standards, recommending process improvements, setting up machines, and ensuring proper equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
Support milling work centers by running daily reports, assigning work, and coordinating job scheduling.
Ensure that materials, tooling, special equipment, etc. are available prior to assigning work.
Coordinate related activities with lead persons of other departments and shifts.
Maintain established quality standards within the department.
Recommend changes to tooling and deviations to establish process changes to reduce costs or improve workflow.
Run or set up machines when the schedule allows or as needed.
Ensure proper maintenance of equipment within the department.
Commit to continuous improvement within the Milling and Turning Departments.
Essential Skills
Experience with CNC machines, specifically Mazak Lathes and DMG turning machines.
Proficiency in GD&T.
Knowledge of Mazatrol.
Leadership skills.
Blueprint reading.
Ability to work with tight tolerances.
Mathematics experience with shop math.
Proficiency with measuring tools.
Experience with manual mills and lathes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong leadership abilities.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Experience working with tight tolerances.
Proficiency in CNC operations.
Strong mathematical skills, specifically in shop math.
Experience with various measuring tools.
Familiarity with manual mills and lathes.

This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $87000.00/yr.
