How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for IT Managers, Crew Recovery Tools in Bloomington, MN. Lead the Tracker360 product launch while enhancing the product through new existing features as well as additional modules as defined by the business process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product team members (Scrum Master, Developers, Testers, and Product Owners) to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions.

  • Work with vendors and partners for the successful implementation of critical software products.

  • Drive research and testing for continuous improvement to the Crew Recovery Tools platform.

  • Guide team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks within and across product teams.

  • Build and maintain high performing product teams through hiring, mentoring, and developing the team members professionally.

  • Engage portfolio team and product owners in agile development process including roadmap planning and iteration planning meetings.

  • Ensure that appropriate development resources are in place to deliver all business functionality required for new and on-going capital and operating needs.

  • Foster collaboration with team members to drive consistency across product teams.

  • Manage the budget associated to Crew roadmap deliverables and commitments.

  • Identify areas of improvement and partner with stakeholders to drive scalable & reliable solutions.

  • Create meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively.

  • Capture and share best practices among the Delta IT community.

  • Provide application support for software running in production.

  • Telecommuting permitted one day per week

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, and five years of software development experience.

  • Architecting and designing enterprise software solutions, applications, integrations, security, and platform engineering;

  • Managing a staff of Software Engineers with standard methodologies including Agile, Scrum, DevOps, Test Driven Development, and Object-Oriented Programming, and building integrated software development teams through hiring and evaluation;

  • Designing and developing applications using J2EE platforms;

  • Designing and deploying both REST and SOAP based APIs; and

  • Developing and managing capital project, operating budgets, and staffing plans.
