Guthrie Theater Information Technology Generalist (Hybrid) in Minneapolis, Minnesota

THE POSITION The Information Technology Generalist provides expertise in technical and functional support to multiple departments within the theater in a variety of technology disciplines. This position also provides systems, storage and networking administration with a focus on understanding how systems work together and which vendors to work with for issue resolution. The Information Technology Generalist conducts general help desk support as needed throughout all departments, including, but not limited to, Tessitura (ticketing system) configuration and maintenance. This position is full-time, exempt and benefits-eligible. Compensation for this position is $65,000 $70,000 annually plus benefits. This role will work daytime hours from Monday Friday with after-hours on-call rotation and the option to work remotely 2 days a week. Must be willing to work flexible hours/days reflective of the dynamic schedule of a theater. Applicants from populations underrepresented in the theater field are strongly encouraged to apply. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Customer Service Provide exceptional customer service to Guthrie staff and visitors. Take every possible step to ensure a positive experience for all. Act with integrity and adaptability when problem solving to develop the best solution at the highest industry standard. Troubleshoot issues, elevating and collaborating as needed with other ITS staff members to problem solve. Monitor ticket queues to ensure service level agreements are met and that priority tickets are addressed in a timely manner so as not to cause operational disruptions. Instruct end users in use of equipment, software and manuals. Recommend or perform remedial actions to correct problems. Provide on-call support for after-hours and emergency situations. Foster a work environment incorporating the Guthrie values of Artistic Excellence; Community; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility; and Fiscal Responsibility. 2. Operations and Administration Maintain a high degree of expertise in order to research, analyze, evaluate and recommend new technology developments. Keep current on technology and business application trends and best practices through participation in conferences, national and regional associations, and e-learning. Share trends with the ITS team as necessary and applicable. Create process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation for both internal (ITS and external (end user) use. Provide support for desktop and multifunction printers. Support projects related to implementing best practices. 3. System Maintenance Support the VM server, 365 Cloud, and network infrastructure. Provide support and resolution for hardware and software related issues. Conduct and complete system backups, maintenance, basic server upgrades and patching. Independently configure and reimage computers as needed. Monitor network components and services for prevention and performance problems. Assist with identifying, reviewing and recommending hardware and software purchases. Contribute to equipment and service documentation for daily operations performed, including IP address administration, firewall administration, router and switch configurations and logical/physical network diagrams. Other projects and responsibilities as requested by the Director of ITS. Applicants must submit a resume to be considered for the position.
