Job Summary You will have the ability toleverage your knowledge of systems, organizational structure, regulatory requirements and analytical/statistical expertise to manage day-to-day operations of utility quality improvement projects to ensure that company requirements are met. Projects can range from small (completed individually) to large (requiring oversight to an internal or contracted team to complete). The ultimate goal is to improve the completeness and accuracy of our records to support regulatory requirements and enable analytics to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality of work produced by the organization. In this role, you should be highly analytical with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills which are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for learning and research. This position provides linkage to the corporate organizations through work management processes, key committees, and project teams. This position supports the evolution of Quality Assurance and Quality Control within Utility Operations including the improvement of current roles and practices, establishment of new processes, and training needs. This role supports Quality beyond work order documentation and records. Essential Functions General: Delivery of all work assignments, setting priorities with minimal involvement from Director. Establish short-term and long-term strategic objectives of the organizations within Utility Quality. Establish annual performance objectives of staff members and conduct periodic performance updates and reviews. Capable of resolving conflict and coordinating with internal employees and external entities. Capable of managing multiple assignments and priorities concurrently. Work flexible hours when required to meet critical deadlines. Achieve annual performance objectives established with Director. Develop staff to ensure individual competency, career progression, and succession options. Actively participate in industry organizations. Drive standardized operational practices, project management and reporting. Process Support:Annually create operational, departmental, and individual objectives to support Enterprise and Utility Operations objectives. Drive accountability, performance management and compliance through the utilization and execution of tools such as business unit planning, operational reviews, and visual board management Project Planning and Management:Capable of managing assigned projects through completion. Report on project or program progress throughout the life of the project or program. Identify, authorize, secure, and manage resources (internal or external) required to initiate and complete major projects and programs. Responsible for achievement of the budgetary and business objectives. Leadership:Provides direction, sets objectives, establishes priorities, and recognizes performance of organization personnel. Responsible for communicating business and departmental objectives to the entire organization. Participate in key company-wide objectives. Leads employees in a matrix work environment across a geographic region. Quality & Controls:Identifies and reviews process control reports to qui kly identify trends and/or errors which could lead to lower data quality standards, completes root cause analyses, develops responses and/or actions necessary to address potential errors. Provides input to the development of new/modified process control reports as needed. Serves as an expert resource on corporate systems and related work management and quality processes. Education Description Bachelor's of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Business Administration, related discipline or 5 years of utility operations experience. Preferred Education: Certified Quality Auditor, Green Belt Certification, Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence Certification. Experience Requires a minimum of five years supervisory experience in the addition to the experience required in lieu of a degree. Preferred Experience: Use of data visualization software like PowerBI and Tableau. Experience with Data Warehousing technology like Oracle Databases, SAP HANA, NoSQL, Hive. Utility experience. Experience with lean six sigma and management of change practices. Use of corporate systems including but not limited to SAP, Service Suite, OnBase, FileNet, ESRI. Experience with Quality Control and Quality Assurance protocols and software like MiniTab. Experience leading a matrix team with remote team members. Experience managing a department budget. Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Experience interacting with employees of all levels to present technical data in a non-technical manner.
