Salvation Army Full-Time Director of Rehabilitation Services - Minneapolis ARC in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Objective: The Director of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for supervision and development of the rehabilitation program. This position ensures the integrity of the program as well as case management through the utilization of professional services. Ensures that the philosophy and standards of an effective rehabilitation program are maintained, including supervision and coordination of staff, volunteers, as well as direct counseling. Additionally, networking in the community will be needed to help provide services and keep the house full. Essential functions: This job description should not be interpreted as all-inclusive. Provide direction to all program staff including intake, counselors, residential managers, kitchen staff, and others to ensure all policies and procedures of the ARC Command are followed. Give direction to the ongoing beneficiary program orientation and communication of program standards. Provide direction to the counselors. Assign each beneficiary a counselor ensuring individual counseling is completed according to ARC policy. Additionally, ensure that all group therapy sessions and center activities are adequately staffed. Carry a counseling case load of beneficiaries individually and/or in groups on scheduled basis and provide crisis intervention as needed. Assist beneficiaries in understanding and overcoming social and emotional problems through individual and/or group counseling. Ensure the development of individual rehabilitation plans by counseling staff for beneficiaries and review on periodic basis. Utilize the program offered by the ARC and, when necessary, ancillary services from other community agencies. Give direction to the resident managers and residence staff, ensuring consistent adherence to all ARC house rules and policies. Maintain the center activity schedule and ensure all sessions are adequately staffed. Monitor beneficiaries to evaluate effectiveness of rehabilitation program and adapt plans as needed. Assist in crises intervention with beneficiary as necessary. Responsible for hiring and training program staff including new employee training as well as ongoing in-service training. Participate in service trainings and local seminars/workshops to enhance professional skills. Manage ongoing beneficiary program orientation and communication of program standards. Responsible for maintaining occupancy of the center at approved occupancy levels according to directives from the ARC Command. Work with the director of operations on daily work therapy assignments. Responsible for monitoring program staff utilization of electronic and beneficiary e-files. This includes securing appropriate background information from other agencies and institutions, monitoring timely counseling and Chaplain data entry, and reviewing the integrity of electronic records. Develop and implement special projects, programs and services as assigned by the administrator. Responsible for the Internship Training Program including recruitment, liaison with local academic community, and weekly supervision of the student interns. Chair the rehabilitation staff meetings and grant meeting. Responsible to develop networking relationships with community agencies and court systems, community education, and encouraging appropriate referrals. Prepare and maintain reports and records required by ARC policy and administration. Provide statistic l information to the staff responsible for the preparation of the monthly reports. Assess spiritual needs of beneficiaries and refer to Chaplain/Administrators as needed. Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army. Evenings, weekends and holidays will be required. Other duties as assigned.
