Systems Engineer, ERP (IFS)

Position Overview

The Software Engineer, ERP is a member of the IT Engineering and Data team and IT function in general. This position will focus on IFS development and IFS support. This is an enterprise-wide role that will support Legence family of companies with initial support mostly for Therma in 2023. This role will require working with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including IFS and our implementation and consulting partners.

Responsibilities

  • Implement changes, bug-fixes, and enhancements to IFS ERP system

  • Provide maintenance, optimization, and support for IFS ERP system

  • Troubleshoot issues, update configurations, users, permission sets

  • Maintain and update system documentation

  • Work closely with internal SMEs and the Product team to implement solutions to fulfill business and system requirements.

  • Solve complex problems on time, spot issues, trace them to their sources, and design solutions

Hard Skills

  • Strong Java and SQL development skills

  • Good knowledge of Database Management Systems

  • Good understanding of IFS or other ERP architecture, design, and development process

  • Understand the latest software development principles and practices, such as methods, patterns, and challenges

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms in general with good knowledge of Microsoft Azure ecosystem (Azure SQL, Azure VMs, Azure API management, etc.)

Soft Skills

  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to manage own time efficiently

  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets

  • Proactivity in all aspects of the technical and team role

  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation

  • Good English communication and documentation skills, oral and written

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to change approach based on new information

  • A positive team player with a can-do attitude

  • Ability to self-learn and quickly understand new and changing technologies in a fast-moving technology landscape

  • Ability to decipher technical data and explain it to business users

Education and job experience

  • BS in Computer Science or related engineering field

  • Working knowledge of IFS or other ERP systems (at least 3 years of hands-on development experience)

  • At least 5 years of overall hands-on software development experience

  • Java/SQL

  • Oracle Middleware/Database

  • Angular or similar JS framework

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • Docker/Kubernetes

  • Microsoft Azure/PowerShell

  • Any relevant industrial certification is a plus

  • Production support experience is a plus
