The Manager of Mechanical Engineering and Modeling will lead the recruitment, mentorship, development, and oversight of a diverse group of engineers and designers. Additionally, the manger will leverage competency in CAD, Modeling Tools, and Systems Engineering to develop processes to drive paradigm-changing growth and continuous improvements initiatives. Position Responsibilities: Assess state-of-the-art capabilities for CAD and Simulation Tools, and from these assessments, lead the acquisition, training, and implementation of necessary tools supporting efficiency and quality improvements for the Mechanical Center of Excellence (CoE) design team, both through direct ownership and building business cases and relationships. Identify key growth areas in technology, communication, and other competencies to drive a continuous growth mindset within the team. Lead improvements upstream and downstream of design, to reduce design effort and increase quality for designers, engineers, analyst, and cross-functional partners. Lead a team of engineers and designers, accountable for product design, development, and validation efforts for multiple NPD projects. Select, train, develop and provide performance feedback to department personnel. Required Skills: Working understanding of Systems Engineering and proven ability to model system performance. Advanced proficiency with CAD, digital modeling tools, and PDM systems . Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement around the incorporation of leading-edge technologies to design teams. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and drive rigor within the technical team responsible for the design and development of new products. Demonstrated ability to provide timely and ongoing feedback, training, and coaching to Engineering staff enabling career development of the team. Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and manage a team of resources to meet deliverables across multiple new product development programs Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external cross-functional partners including all levels of managements, technical and nontechnical. Required Experience Bachelor's Degree in a Mechanical Engineering. Minimum working experience of 8 years, and at least 2 years of engineering project and/or people management. Thorough understanding of product design development and manufacturing methodologies, including sheetmetal fabrication, rotomolding, injection molding, and assembly.
