Ameriprise Financial Director, Operations in Minneapolis, Minnesota

"Responsible for leading the Document Operations, Incoming Payments and the Service Delivery (SD) Outgoing Disbursements teams, along with a team of three Senior Business Analysts. Provide guidance to the leaders related to staffing and process improvements, along with providing project support to the teams as needed. Follow Lean fundamentals to identify and implement process improvements. Help lead projects impacting the overall Money Movement organization, participate in vendor reviews, contract renewals and creation of Statement Of Work (SOW) for vendor engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesLead a team of professionals providing complex operations activities to advisors, including regulatory supervision to ensure that compliance and regulatory requirements are met. Ensure timely and accurate resolution of escalated advisor issues. Develop and manage cost effective, efficient and compliant operational strategies to ensure advisor and client's needs are met. Manage department P&L, focusing on managing controllable expenses, including vendors.Manage relationships with a variety of internal and external business partners and advisors to identify root cause of operational and service issues. Implement solutions to increase advisor and client satisfaction, while ensuring all operational, financial, and regulatory requirements are met.Demonstrate thought leadership on process improvements and business transformation activities. Ensure effective implementation of strategies.Provide effective people leadership through effective coaching, feedback and sound performance management practices. Act as champion for the team and intervene on matters that create roadblocks to individual or organizational success. Set department initiatives and aligns and sets individual performance goals.Required QualificationsAssociate degree or equivalent.7-10+ years of relevant work experience.Active FINRA Series 99 or the ability to obtain within 120 days.Strong relationship management/influencing skills.Ability to analyze root cause and implement solutions.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams.People leadership experience, either through direct leadership or coaching/mentoring roles.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent (4-years).Active FINRA Series 7 and 24.Formal people leadership experience.Strong working knowledge of Operations techniques.About Our CompanyWe're a diversified financial services leader with more than $1 trillion in assets under management and administration as of 2022.
