Director of Retail Operations 

Salaried Position 

Bachman's is looking for a high-energy level, motivated, and experienced individual for the Director of Retail Operations role. This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Bachman's Retail Stores. The purpose of this role is to provide leadership to stores needed to achieve their goals for sales and profitability as well as establish a service and team culture driven by our Core Values. 

POSITION DUTIES:

• Provide leadership to retail store leaders to achieve corporate goals. This includes both building strategy and day-to-day leadership coaching. 

• Execution of Standard Operation Procedures (this includes both compliance with current procedures and writing new and updated practices).

• Use financial data to make adjustments to the operation to improve profitability and the customer experience. 

• Stay on top of industry trends; introduce new equipment and practices to improve the operation. 

• Use business reports to determine appropriate action in staffing, product presentation, and inventory best practices. 

• Ensure company standards of merchandising and signing are being achieved. 

• Have discussions with managers to determine roadblocks and follow up with appropriate action, including training and garnering support of retail partners. 

  QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4-Year degree, preferably in business related field

• Minimum of 5 years in retail management 

• Ability to motivate and direct people in a tactful, productive manner

• Strong policy and procedure knowledge, with the ability to communicate and train

• Strength in building teams through coaching, development, recruitment, and retention.

• Ability to lead and inspire a service and selling culture. 

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 

• Financial acumen with the experience and ability to budget and analyze business and productivity in a retail environment. 

• Very strong merchandising skills. 

• Must be able to set and execute own schedule while operating with little day-to-day direction.

  SCHEDULED HOURS:

  Primarily Monday- Friday, with as needed evenings and weekends, for events. 6-Day work weeks during Garden season.
