UMPhysicians Clinical Risk Management Specialist - RN in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Why M Physicians? The Clinical Risk Management Coordinator's role encompasses key risk management functional areas including active participation in UMP's Communication and Resolution Program, Peer Review and Peer Support programs. In addition to providing frontline clinical risk management support to the Risk Management team the Clinical Risk Coordinator provides general support for UMP's Risk Management functions. What you will do as a Clinical Risk Management Specialist: Perform initial intake and review of adverse events including medical record review, patient and care team interviews, preliminary investigation, participation in patient safety review, documentation, etc. Triage event management to appropriate member of the UMP Risk Management team or appropriate department for follow-up. May require collaboration with other UMP departments or partner organizations Perform direct outreach to patients and families to understand concerns and triage appropriately for follow-up Manage cases via Communication and Resolution Principles including coordinating and participating in patient/family meetings (in-person or virtually) Partner with patient relations department to hand off cases including regular meetings to address management of cases Support committee on Professional Performance Monitor/track adherence to action plans Provide support for UMP's Peer Support program including; data collection, tracking and reports, support semi-annual meeting/reports to committee Assist department leadership with coordination of various annual reports, Risk Management Workplan, Risk Management program documents, etc. What you will need: RN Required - Associate's (ADN) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) 5+ Risk Management/Patient Safety experience with an understanding of health care delivery, risk management and patient safety principles required Experience working with medical records Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, data management Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality of highly sensitive information Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, team members and providers Location:Position will be working remote - ONLY considering Minnesota applicants at this time.
