Faculty will teach across all educational programs as appropriate. Clinical practice in the area of expertise may be incorporated as part of the position. Opportunities exist for formal leadership in the clinical setting or advanced practice specialty curriculum. Multiple hires will be made from this posting in accordance with the needs of the school. Individuals may be hired at 100% or less depending on the needs of the school and the individual. Individuals may be hired on a 12-month or a 9-month appointment depending on the needs of the school and anticipated workload. Appropriate rank will be determined at time of hire, following assessment of skills/experience. Qualifications Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate (DNP, PhD or International equivalent), or comparable qualification. In rare circumstances, a masters degree (Instructor level) could be considered. For applicants who are nurses, MN RN licensure must be obtained prior to entering on duty. Licenses and certifications as needed for specialty area. Evidence of excellence in specialty area. Evidence of a defined area of scholarship and experience in teaching. Preferred Qualifications: Earned doctorate in nursing. Recognition in a defined area of scholarship. Demonstrated record of service to the profession. At least one year teaching and advising experience. Professional certification as an advanced practice nurse. About the Department About the School: The School of Nursing at the University of Minnesota was established in 1909, and is distinct in being the first continuing nursing program on a university campus. We offer prelicensure baccalaureate (Twin Cities and Rochester campuses) and masters programs and doctoral (PhD and DNP) education.
