Robert Half Carrier Sales Representative in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Carrier Sales Representative to join our client’s logistics team. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers, negotiating competitive rates, and identifying opportunities for new business with existing customers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers to ensure reliable service and competitive pricing.

  • Engage with carriers through regular communication to confirm availability and coordinate shipments.

  • Negotiate competitive rates with carriers to maximize profitability while meeting customer requirements.

  • Generate quotes for clients, reflecting agreed-upon rates and services.

  • Ensure all agreements with carriers are documented and maintained accurately.

  • Evaluate carrier accounts periodically to uncover additional collaboration opportunities.

  • Monitor the progress of shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and addressing any delays or issues.

  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth load execution and customer satisfaction.

  • Oversee freight matching by managing available load boards to align with carrier capacity.

  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to adjust strategies accordingly.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, dispatch, carrier sales, or logistics.

  • Proven track record of successful carrier relationship management and rate negotiation.

  • Strong understanding of transportation modes, market trends, and pricing strategies.

  • Results-oriented critical thinker, with a strong focus on achieving goals.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering results.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
