POSITION SUMMARY: With limited supervision, this position is responsible for supporting Analytics software sales for SICK, Inc. by providing technical support to our global sales and market teams, customers, integrators, and distributors. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide global installation and deployment support for the Analytics software - travel to customer sites to evaluate customer's IT and automation environment, recommend SICK solutions and solve technical issues. Apply diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques to identify problems, investigate root cause analysis, and recommend solutions for software, IT hardware, IT and automation networks, including security and bandwidth, cloud/remote connectivity, etc.. Test customer deployments of the Analytics solutions to validate system functionality and performance. Provide escalated (level 3) global technical support for the Analytics solutions. Maintain up-to-date technical support and benchmarking digital knowledge base. Maintain demonstration systems and simulators for internal and sales demonstartions. Support pre-sales activities such as system/hardware requirements, system sizing, PoCs, quotations, etc. Work with internal and external resources to identify areas for continuous improvement. Provide frequent and immediate management updates and reports. Provide trade show support as necessary. Ability to travel to domestic and international site on short notice and for the duration of the project. Regular attendance and timeliness. Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required. Position will require 50-60% business travel, including International. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Four year degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or other engineering discipline preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered. 1+ years of experience in IT technical customer support, ideally in industrial automation preferred. Other Qualifications: Written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively interface with individuals both inside and outside the organization from a technical perspective regarding SICK products. Able to problem solve with internal and external customers. Desire to learn and grow with-in the role. Able to expand technical knowledge. Able and willing to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed. Legally permitted to work in the United States. Able to work in a general office environment.
