We're seeking a Golf Course Construction Intern with similar values, who can put his or her expertise to work. The individual in this role will report to the on-site Project Superintendent. This position will provide a "hands-on" experience in some of the following areas: Job Shadowing with on-site Project Superintendents and working alongside laborers in all aspects of golf course construction, managing small crews, scheduling, critical path timeline, construction meetings with owner, architects, and engineers, as-built plans, reading plans, surveying, documentation of daily activities, safety checks for projects, estimating, quantity takeoff. The exact locations of the projects are yet to be determined, but they may be outside the Atlanta and Minneapolis regions, potentially requiring the student to relocate out of state for the summer. Key Responsibilities: * Work with a Project Superintendent to identify project requirements. * Conduct weekly safety meetings, safety plans, and pre-task safety meetings. * Daily crew, equipment, and materials management. * Assisting in environmental compliance, filling out logs, reports, and checklists. * Reviewing plans and specifications. * Daily recording of all project quantities and materials. * Meet with owners, engineers, and golf architects of a project. * Daily recording of as-builts. * Surveying and layout with GPS equipment. * Lead and manage small crews and participate in the work. * Labor and operating equipment as needed to complete tasks. Skills and Abilities: * An unwavering focus on safety. * Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements. * Strong communication and organizational skills. * Strong coordination, time management, active listening and reasoning skills required. * Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements. * Punctual and has a "Can Do" attitude. Physical and other requirements: * Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 80 pounds. * Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit. * Work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. * Travel and Saturday work are required.
