These are part-time, hourly positions. These positions support editorial duties for the Center's publications, communications initiatives, technical and non-technical projects, and grants-related projects, research, and reporting. These positions also may develop communication and marketing plans for internal and external audiences in consultation with center staff, and participate in the planning and delivery of assigned programs and programs related to the Center's publications, academic programming, and outreach initiatives. These positions take work direction from the associate director and director, and must be able to complete assignments independently. This posting does not constitute an announcement of open positions, but is used to establish a pool of applicants should openings occur during academic year 2024/25 and summer 2025. Qualifications Required Qualifications BA/BS degree or a combination of related education and work experiences to equal four years; demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with an emphasis on precision and timeliness of execution. Academic and educational background in the humanistic social sciences with an emphasis on Austrian and/or Central European Studies. Preferred Qualifications. Prior successful work experience working in a research center in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota. Advanced degree and/or equivalent educational background in the humanistic social sciences with an emphasis on Austrian and/or Central European Studies. Experience developing and working with communications, social media, and publicity for academic events and programs. Experience researching, writing, and editing content for print and electronic communications and publications. IGS connects students, scholars, and communities dedicated to social justice, understanding, and transforming our globalized world. IGS offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate major and minor intended to foster innovative problem solving by providing students with a variety of methods and analytic tools. Students are encouraged to develop new perspectives that combine diverse ways of knowing the world.
