Senior Project Engineer

As a Sr Project Engineer and member of the Rapid Innovation Center (RIC) at Milwaukee you will be responsible for initiating and leading the development of low to medium complexity projects within the Accessory Business Unit.

You will be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership over low to moderate complexity design projects. Provides direction, guidance and engineering expertise to team members. Review work of designers, engineers and other project team members.

  • Responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budget and scheduling guidelines and meeting performance targets.

  • Collaborate with other engineering department team members in the development of products and delivering test systems to support testing and prototyping power tool accessories.

  • Complete projects on time, at cost, and within budget.

  • Facilitate weekly global team meetings as needed to monitor project milestones and status.

  • Present project status and updates to peers and senior management.

  • Confirm and document product performance specification.

  • Develop and follow procedures and standards to ensuring products meet/exceed established performance criteria.

  • Initiate and monitor test lab requests.

  • Determine root cause and determines design/engineering solutions.

  • Analyze, evaluate and select from design execution alternatives to best meet specification objectives and implement designs into mass production.

  • Conduct design and safety reviews as needed to gain necessary approvals for product development phase progressions.

  • Accountable for technical elements of project execution including integration of complicated components and assemblies, material selection, packaging and safety, regulatory and standards compliance.

  • Communicates, both verbal and written, to assure all groups are working toward the goal of timely project completion. Communicate technical details, ideas, and concepts to engineers and non-engineers in multiple locations.

  • Drive design of project to meet market driven design guides and fulfill cost, timing, reliability, and high volume manufacturing requirements.

Testing

  • Implements new experiments and test systems.

  • Exhibits vision and foresight to guide team members through well thought out, logical test regimes.

What TOOLS you will bring with you:

  • Minimum of Five years of experience in product design engineering and project management.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical engineering degree.

  • Ability and experience leading cross functional teams.

  • Team player with great communication skills.

  • Performs work consistent with expectations.

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work in fast paced environment.

  • Must have great organizational skills in order to manage several projects and tasks while maintaining project schedules.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10%.

  • Experience successfully managing low-moderate complexity projects and/or subsystems of larger projects.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including Microsoft Project.
