JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Consistent with the best practices and environment for professional development (please see updated MCW Postdoctoral Researcher Handbookthat took effect July 1, 2024), the Benjamin Laboratory at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow (0-1/2 years) with career scientists with firm commitments for competitive salaries and career opportunities to launch his/her trajectory journey in basic/translational scientific research. Supported by our seminal studies conducted to elucidate the molecular chaperones and mechanisms underlying ischemic cardioprotection, inheritable cardiomyopathy and redox signaling pathways, our research program seeks to bridge understanding between the complex pathobiological processes in disease pathogenesis (e.g., COVID-19, cardio-oncology) and how certain molecular stress signal trigger cellular cells and the recovery of multi-organ injury (i.e., heart, lung, kidney). When coupled to the candidate\'s commitment, courage and self-confidence, our programs offer complementary experiences ranging from studies (e.g., spatial transcriptomics) of human autopsies in situ, \'omics\' studies in vivo and disease modeling using human-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cells and organoids alongside ML/AI algorithms. As a former president of the American Heart Association and faculty mentor, I am an internationally recognized expert and physician/scientist who is also the co-director (contact PI) of an NHLBI T32 Training program in Signature Transdisciplinary Cardiovascular Sciences based at MCW\'s Cardiovascular Center.
