Position Summary A postdoctoral position is available at NIH-funded lab to study the role of HEMOLYSIS in promoting organ damage in SICKLE CELL DISEASE. The lab is interested in studying the role of hemolysis induced heme-iron -hemoglobin accumulation and associated liver-kidney and splenic injury in Sickle Cell Disease. Previous experience in mice surgery or intravital microscopy, microfluidic platforms, flow cytometry, western blot analysis and a strong background in hemoglobin-heme-iron clearance, liver biology, and sterile inflammation, receptor-ligand interaction and endocytosis is highly preferred.
