Robert Half Payroll Coord in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Description We are offering an opportunity for a dedicated individual to fill the role of Payroll Administrator within our team in the Energy/Natural Resources industry. Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the successful candidate will be tasked with managing payroll processes for a specific group or region, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining accurate records. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing the full weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycle for various personnel groups

• Retrieving and validating worked hours from the accounting system and importing them into the payroll system

• Ensuring effective management of time banks, sick leave banks, and floating vacations

• Verifying and analyzing employee payroll prior to transmission, including pay correction, change of status, special rates, insurance premium, etc.

• Ensuring timely payroll transmissions at all times

• Sending payroll accounting entries to the accounting department weekly

• Verifying and posting employment records and responding to employment insurance inquiries

• Participating in audits and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley 404 and other relevant regulations

• Answering internal and external calls as the main contact for all payroll matters

• Preparing month-end reports and completing Statistics Canada reports

• Managing compliance of the year-end process and completing check requisitions for pension plans, union dues, social clubs, etc.

• Filing payroll-related documents and ensuring proper documentation and compliance management. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in payroll functions and accounting entries

• Familiarity with compliance management and Sarbanes Oxley 404 Compliance

• Experience in auditing, statistics, and QA management

• Knowledge of insurance and pension plans

• Ability to handle month-end reports and union dues

• Proficiency in using 'About Time' software

• Experience with salary structures and requisitions

• Familiarity with CSST and floating in the energy/natural resources industry

• Strong skills in documentation and the ability to answer queries promptly and efficiently.
