Facilities Planning Specialist

We're recruiting for an entry level position with a premier financial service organization in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role will start off as a contract thru the end of the year, with a possible extension, also could convert to an Intern role, and any current Commercial Interior Design college students are welcome to apply (we can work around your schedule)!

This role is for the department and people that move the people and create the spaces on campus. In addition to the commercial interior design component, we are looking for someone who can also be comfortable in the project management space to effectively navigate the projects they work on.

A Commercial Interior Design Degree is a must, if you have experience with Archibus, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam, that would be beneficial as these are the tools the team uses.

Responsible for facility related projects in coordination with member of the facility planning team and independent work on smaller scale projects. Facility related jobs require occupancy/vacancy updates, field inventory, AutoCAD furniture drawings, creation of job packets in CAFM, field measure, inventory and budget management. Small scale jobs require meeting with the client, analyzing client needs and developing a space plan solution utilizing programming skills, knowledge of our space, product, and culture, as well as space planning knowledge.

  • Requires the ability to create floor plans and design solutions utilizing basic knowledge of appropriate space for circulation, various codes, ordinances, and statutes relative to building occupancy standards.

  • Requires the ability to problem solve, prioritize requests, exercise judgment and execute to job completion.

  • Performs additional functions which provide support to the team such as monitoring inventory levels, product naming for warehouse inventory and conducts yearly audit functions.

  • Assists planners with the research, specification and coordination of the selection process with manufacturers, and vendors.

  • Must apply judgment relative to the function and aesthetic characteristics of all standards selected.

  • Must maintain a high degree of discretion relative to confidentiality of information.

  • Exercises judgment in the disposition of information regarding pending reorganizations, long-range planning, promotions and transfers. May perform other duties as assigned.

  • BS degree Interior Design with a preferred minimum of one year relevant work experience.

  • Basic knowledge of corporate space planning, systems furniture applications required.

  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to take work from start to finish including customer follow-up.

  • Basic understanding of municipal codes, ADA requirements and other aspects of design affecting health and safety required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals throughout the organization · Work experience must include demonstration of time management, analytical ability, superior verbal and written skills as well as sound decision making abilities.

  • Demonstrate ability to build rapport and exercise tact, diplomacy, resourcefulness and understanding to provide service to customers at all leve ls.

Pay Details: $21.75 per hour
