Job Title: Insurance UnderwriterJob Description

This position is responsible for overseeing the Health & Benefits portfolio of products, focusing on risk and profitability. The role involves recommending actions through rate adjustments, plan amendments, and distribution modifications, ensuring adherence to medical underwriting guidelines while collaborating with reinsurers and Actuaries for risk decisions requiring facultative approval.

Hard Skills

• Strong medical terminology and/or understanding of anatomy

• Bachelor’s Degree or Insurance-related work experience

• Knowledge of business, finance, economics, and mathematics

• Knowledge of the health insurance market

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and computer systems

• Ability to analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources and solve complex problems

Soft Skills

• Ability to work independently and adjust schedule to meet demands

• Strong ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work collaboratively with sales staff and other department staff

• Professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills

This is a fully remote position.

Work Environment

This role is a temporary position from 8/13/24 to 2/02/25, working Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. All necessary equipment will be provided.
