Job Summary
Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and life safety and electrical control systems to ensure adequate, safe and operable institutional facilities. Must be creative, flexible, self-motivated and quality oriented while providing outstanding customer service.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to read electrical diagrams, schematics, construction plans and the ability to implement.
Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver license (or other such valid operator’s permit recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation) and be able to meet or exceed the minimum requirements for driving on state business as detailed here: https://uwm.edu/risk-management/drivers/
High School Diploma and the completion of a registered apprenticeship program approved by the Department of Workforce Development as an Electrician – Journey as defined on DWD website
DSPS Registered Electrician
Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds assisted
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to perform a variety of computer functions including but not limited to word processing, proprietary/industry-specific software and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of operations, maintenance and repair of electrical alarm system and apparatus commonly used in institutional buildings.
Evidence of possessing technical skills in the troubleshooting of electrical problems
Evidence of having completed OSHA 10 training
Experience working within a commercial/institutional environment
Possession of an Electrician Masters license as defined by DWD
Evidence of the ability to work independently and well-organized
Target Salary Range $52.07 (based on 100-hour leave rate) Final wage will depend on annual vacation election.
