The campus includes a mixture of new, aging and historical buildings, residence halls, apartments, athletic fields, parking lots, and commons buildings. Facilities employees provide building services to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for students, staff, and faculty. The Facilities Team monitors, operates, maintains, and repairs building equipment and systems including but not limited to HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, snow removal, and grounds maintenance in accordance with university standards. Our team members are responsible for effective day to day maintenance services to the building operational systems. Essential Job Functions Inspects buildings and other structures, records operating conditions and checks for problems. Use appropriate tools and equipment to install, repair, maintain, and verify proper operation of building systems and equipment. Maintains logs of building system operations and work performed. Follows university policies and procedures to requisition materials and supplies as needed. Calculate electrical requirements and specifications for materials and equipment. Install equipment for new electrical services (120v, 240v and 480v three phase) including new wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contactors, relays, timers and controls. Diagnose malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, etc. Testing of emergency equipment generators, lighting etc. Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (wall switches and outlets, light bulbs, ballasts, sockets, fuses, minor appliances etc.). Coordinate work of contracted services as needed. Perform minor plumbing maintenance. Perform minor painting, carpentry and masonry work.
