The work we do here matters.Department OverviewThis unit supports the North America Government Sales team through project funding and business development activities that have a political focus. These activities include developing customer funding strategies to support procurement of large public safety communications systems as well as on-going life cycle investments in such systems. This unit also engages in legislative advocacy in support of the company\'s video security and software businesses. Candidate must be able to develop and maintain high-level relationships with state and local elected officials and key staff to promote MSI government sales. This position works in close partnership with internal clients primarily in the Midwest sales territory.Job Description Responsibilities: This position is responsible for developing and implementing political and funding strategies for large-scale public safety technology projects. These strategies will often involve developing and driving legislative initiatives, as well as advocating with both the executive and legislative branches of state/local government and the ability to get state or local elected leaders to prioritize these projects among other competing budget needs. This position is expected to cultivate relationships with elected leaders of both political parties. The ability to craft messaging that will resonate with elected leaders and to develop stakeholder support strategies for these projects will be critical to success in this role.
