Job Summary

This position is a voiceover artist/actor who provides the vocal talent for audio recordings and videos, focusing primarily on the production of audio and video advertisements. This position works closely with MarComm’s multimedia team, which produces audio and video ads promoting the university.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide Voiceover for Various Projects

  • Deliver high-quality voiceover work for over a dozen audio and video projects annually.

  • Record voiceovers for streaming audio and radio ads, including 30-second and 15-second spots, and other spot lengths as needed.

  • Record voiceovers for streaming video and TV ads, including 30-second, 15-second, and 6-second spots.

  • Voice UWM’s anthem video and other recruitment-related videos

  • Re-recording and Adjustments

  • Re-record voiceover spots as necessary to align with UWM’s creative specifications.

  • Make adjustments in response to procedural, administrative, and other changes at the university.

  • Meet Production Deadlines

  • Complete all voice recordings promptly to meet production schedules and deadlines.

  • Authentic Representation of UWM

  • When required, speak authentically about UWM in advertisements, drawing from personal experience as a UWM alum.

  • Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all recordings are of professional quality, with clear, articulate, and engaging delivery.

  • Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Multimedia team to understand project requirements and deliver voiceovers that match the intended tone and style.

  • Feedback Integration

  • Incorporate feedback from the Director of Multimedia, directors, producers and other stakeholders to refine and perfect voice recordings.

Any work performed during employment with UWM shall be considered a “work for hire” as defined in U.S. Copyright laws and shall be owned by the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System for the express benefit of UWM . In that event that such work does not qualify as a work for hire, the voiceover artist agrees to and does hereby assign to the Board of Regents all of rights title and interest in such work including but not limited to all copyright and other property rights. The voiceover artist agrees to execute any and all documents prepared by UWM and to do all other lawful acts as may be required by UWM to establish, document and protect such rights.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed courses at UWM

  • Experience as a voiceover artist or actor

  • Have the ability to come to UWM to record in our studio or have access to a professional recording studio in the area where they live

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduated from UWM in the past 15 years with an undergraduate or graduate degree

  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment

  • Demonstrated success as a voiceover artist

    Target Salary Range Salary will be determined by finalist's experience, training, education and equity-based factors, and be paid via lump sum payments after completion of each production

    Benefits and Total Rewards
