School/College/Division Description

Since 1965, the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies ( CLACS ) has furthered its three-pronged mission to promote teaching, research, and public engagement about Latin America and the Caribbean. The Center’s mission is supported through its designation as a Title VI National Resource Center with funding from the Department of Education, in collaboration with partner UW-Madison Latin American and Iberian Studies ( LACIS ), as part of the UW-Consortium. CLACS serve a diverse constituency, within the UWM campus, the UW-system, and through regional, national and international partnerships. There are over 60 CLACS faculty affiliates, over 100 regional faculty affiliates and serves the community-at-large. For more on the Center, see: www.uwm.edu/clacs
