THE ABILITY CENTER Adaptive Recreation Program Manager in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

Overview: As a Program Coordinator, you will manage and develop programs supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. You\'ll oversee program implementation, budgeting, and stakeholder relationships, contributing to our organization\'s success. General Responsibilities: - Attend monthly community outreach events. - Manage inventory of adaptive and sports equipment. - Maintain and build relationships for programming and community events. - Network and identify leads for school and community programming. - Schedule and lead planning sessions with schools/organizations. - Ensure smooth operations at events, including participant check-in and waiver signing. - Improve processes while maintaining high-quality experiences. - Expand program reach in Greater Milwaukee through outreach and recruitment. - Manage storage facilities, including occasional small path snow removal. Program Specific Responsibilities: - Develop and implement programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. - Support gym and recreational programming. - Lead the Adaptive Scholastic Athletic Program (ASAP), hosting disability awareness assemblies and inclusive physical education classes. - Partner with community-based nonprofits for Open Gym, promoting inclusive, non-competitive play. - Oversee 3v3 Wheelchair Basketball seasons. - Collaborate on RampUp projects, creating inclusive recreational opportunities. - Manage the Wisconsin Thunder wheelchair basketball program, supporting athlete development and tournament participation. - Ensure timely arrival and management of equipment for events. - Lead programs and events approximately 5-7 times per month, with potential for increased attendance as programs grow.
