In the role ofan Accountant Senioryou will beworking in the Finance and Administration Department. Purpose To perform functions in the Controller\'s Office that focus on daily accounting, month-end close, the preparation of financial statements, audit schedules, analyses and reconciliations, sponsored programs grant management activities and special project work related to the transition to a new ERP system. Primary Functions Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules, including analysis of variances from budget and the prior year balances. Participate in the annual audit process. Duties include preparation of certain audit workpapers, including the trial balance, financial statements, footnotes, closing entries, and confirmations for the consolidated MCW audit. Prepare financial surveys, settlements, and other financial reporting and accounting duties timely and accurately, as assigned. Assist with the preparation and analysis of annual tax return workpapers and compliance reporting. Prepare required external grant financial reports according to agency guidelines on a timely and accurate basis for supervisor review and approval, including both monthly invoicing to sponsoring agencies and financial status reports as required. Perform activities related to the semi-annual time and effort reporting process in accordance with OMB 2 CFR Part 200. Perform special project work that supports the transition to a new ERP including account closures, reconciling item resolution, asset tagging, asset capitalization, receivables collection or other activities across the Controller\'s Office Be knowledgeable and proficient with financial accounting systems that support the financial reporting and accounting functions and related financial operations. Provide timely service that meets and exceeds the expectations of other MCW departments in the areas of general policy communication, journal entry preparation, and financial statement and audit distribution.
