Robert Half Medical Records Technician in Milton, Washington

Description

We are looking for a Medical Records Technician to join our team in Milton, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining patient medical records in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. This job is a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee, maintain, and update patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA

• Accurately record and update medical data, such as diagnosis, treatment, and healthcare provider's notes in electronic health records

• Ensure all charting is up to date, with signatures captured and no incomplete components in patient records

• Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to accurately input, interpret, and sort patient records

• Respond to requests for patient information, ensuring all required permissions and patient privacy considerations under HIPAA are adhered to

• Regularly conduct auditing and quality assurance checks of electronic health records to maintain integrity and proper documentation in line with industry standards

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary

• Handle customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Requirements • Possession of a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Records Technician or in a relevant position

• Proficiency in checking patients' medical records

• Familiarity with inpatient records and their appropriate handling

• Demonstrated ability to manage patient check-in procedures effectively

• Expertise in determining patient eligibility for various medical services

• Experience in conducting medical insurance verification

• Proficiency in using MS Office suite for administrative tasks

• Experience in managing medical charts and patient records

• Understanding and adherence to HIPAA Compliance, particularly the Patient Privacy Rule

• Ability to accurately maintain patient charts

• Experience in answering inbound calls and addressing patient inquiries

• Familiarity with EMR - Electronic Medical Records system

• Ability to accurately input and update patient demographic information in relevant systems

• A commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and adhering to the professional code of ethics.
