Eaton Corporation Continuous Improvement Associate in Milton, Ontario

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Associate. This position is based at our Milton, ON manufacturing facility.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, this position will assist in the improvement of manufacturing/business processes, manufacturing data integrity and the development of manufacturing standards deploying and using the eight Eaton lean tools.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Kaizen team to facilitate/lead weekly Kaizen events and complete Kaizen event action items.

  • Assist with optimizing shop floor layouts to achieve maximum efficiency and minimal inventory.

  • Ability and drive to resolve issues, engage management, front office, and shop floor to implement change.

  • Work closely with manufacturing engineering for implementation of process improvements.

  • Ability to identify and eliminate waste in the process using the eight Eaton Lean tools.

  • Responsible for working with and supporting all departments with their cost savings goals.

  • Challenges the status quo and champions new and innovative ideas (Industry 4.0).

  • Actively participate in structured problem-solving exercises, as required.

  • Act as a positive role model and change advocate who inspires others to suggest and implement improvements to their work processes.

  • Training and onboarding of new hires on 5S and Lean tools.

  • Spend time on the shop floor with the Kaizen team completing hands-on 5S Kaizen actions, such as labelling, organizing, painting lines, cleaning etc.

Qualifications:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and three (3) years of experience utilizing lean tools (5s, Six Sigma Methodology, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Structured Problem Solving) in a manufacturing environment OR a college diploma in engineering technology or similar technical discipline.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with no company sponsorship.

  • Must currently reside within a 80km radius of the working location (Milton, ON) to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering Technology or similar with one (1) year of exprience utilizing lean tools in a manufacturing environment

  • Previous experience working in an assembly and/or fabrication environment.

  • Previous experience with internal audits (5S, ISO) & operational assessments.

  • Previous experience using AutoCAD/Inventor skills.

Skills:

  • Strong Mechanical/Electrical product knowledge.

  • Knowledge of digital/data analysis tools, such as Power BI/macros.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Willingness and ability to present and facilitate in front of an audience.

  • Must be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills and thrive working in teams.
