Durand Glass Manufacturing Company, LLC Hot End Foreman in Millville, New Jersey
The Foreman directs the activities of the personnel on the shift in an efficient manner to achieve the established quality and quantity of work. The Foreman is responsible to ensure that all shift employees comply with all safety, quality, quantity, and housekeeping standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises all personnel activities within the production area during the shift. Organizes all production work (various jobs) on his shift for efficient and smooth operations; collects, reviews, and reports on production results of shift. Reports any process or equipment problems. Contacts necessary personnel on evenings and weekend for assistance in troubleshooting production related issues. Evaluates the performance and completes evaluations for Hot End personnel on his shift; recommends advancement and initiates appropriate measures to correct poor performance. Ensures that established policies, rules, regulations and procedures are followed; takes measures in line with company policy when violations occur. Passes pertinent information on to incoming shift foreman to ensure smooth shift change. Participates in all required meetings. Maintains standards, including 6S and others, as designated. Ensure the safety of the employees. In the Hot End, initiates incident investigations (injuries, employee issues, etc) and documents accordingly; ensures other incident investigations are completed by the designated supervisors. Ensures the integrity of the furnace and the machines/production efficiencies. Monitors all personnel related activities throughout the Hot End (ex. investigate, resolve, document, and reporting of incidents). Performs 'Walk the Floor' activities throughout the Hot End checking on and maintaining KPI's, yield, downtime, call-ins, 5S, and handling issues. Directs the adjustment of equipment and/or manpower as needed to meet established production goals. Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment. Ensures the security of the facility including perimeter of facility; ensuring no unauthorized personnel/activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of technical equipment/machinery. Supervisory experience in a large industrial environment required. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Word and Excel. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a disposition to achieve results.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High School Diploma or equivalent.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to push or pull up to 100 lbs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to carry up to 25 lbs. Production Environment. Overtime as required.
SHIFT: Monday - Friday from 6 am - 3 pm to start, then 12 hour rotating shift (dupont schedule)
