Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Location: Casper, WY

Job Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay: $24-$26 per hour

Job Summary:

Adecco is currently assisting a local client in Casper, WY, in their search for an Accounting Assistant. In this role, you will apply accounting principles to maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with federal regulations. This position involves working closely with the accounting team to support various functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. It is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on accounting experience and contribute to the success of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable Assistance:

  • Process invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders.

  • Verify and reconcile vendor statements.

  • Prepare and process timely payments to vendors.

  • Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable records.

  • General Ledger Support:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.

  • Participate in year-end audits and mid-year reviews.

  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.

  • Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the accounting department.

  • Assist with filing, data entry, and other tasks as needed.

Competencies:

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Equipped with an automation mindset, including experience with PowerApps, Power Automate, or similar tools (preferred).

  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective team member with initiative and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in accounting or related field; or a combination of education and related accounting experience.

  • 1+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting accounting reports and financial documents.

  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and mathematical concepts relevant to accounting.

  • Experience with 10-key, spreadsheet, word processing, and ERP software (preferred).

  • Experience in the manufacturing sector (a plus).

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit; occasionally stand, walk, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Close vision and focus adjustment for reading documents and computer work are required.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily an office environment with moderate noise levels.

  • Occasional proximity to typical office equipment with moving parts (e.g., printers).

Pay Details: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
