Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Mill Valley, California
Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the service industry, located in Marin County, California. This role involves supervising a dynamic team responsible for centralized accounting functions for numerous remote offices. The successful candidate will liaise with the IT team to ensure the smooth running of accounting systems, manage staff schedules, and provide ongoing training and support to the team.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise the accounting department, overseeing the processing of various vendor expenditures on behalf of principals.
• Work collaboratively with the IT team to ensure all accounting systems are functioning accurately and to help develop system enhancements as needed.
• Prepare and manage special reports and analyses involving financial data, including cash flow, vendor activity, receivables, etc.
• Ensure accurate preparation of monthly bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and annual budget preparation.
• Train and direct accounting personnel in detailed accounting entries and internal financial reporting.
• Manage staff scheduling, overtime, and time off using electronic timekeeping systems.
• Act as a backup for the accounts receivable position.
• Assist with annual reviews by outside auditors and participate in special projects as assigned by upper management.
• Coach, counsel, and perform employee evaluations as needed.
Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge of auditing procedures
• Ability to handle Billing Functions
• Proficiency in using NetSuite
• Experience in Cash Flow Analysis and Cash Flow Forecasts
• Experience in dealing with Multiple Vendors
• Expertise in Bank Account Reconciliation
• Experience in preparing the Annual Operating Budget
• Proficiency in budgeting procedures
