Insight Global Mechanical Combustions Engineer in Milford, Ohio

Job Description

A fast-growing, innovative company in the Milford, OH area is looking for a Mechanical Combustions Engineer to join their team. This individual will be joining an exciting team that's revolutionizing the energy industry. This engineer will support the engine technology development into a stationary application. The primary responsibility will be designing the aerodynamics of the reactor and oxidation system; handling aspects like fuel/air mixing, heat release management, emissions control, and overall performance. Additional duties include:

  • Design and troubleshoot complex aero and combustion systems

-Emissions compliance: Plan and conduct certification testing and submit reports

  • Support components and subsystems of the engine system, considering factors like functionality, durability, manufacturability, serviceability, cost, and weight

  • Lead efforts to build, test, and validate prototypes to identify design flaws

Skills and Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in the design/analysis of combustion systems (tools such as Cantera, Chemkin, etc.)

  • Gas turbines experience within the aerospace, power-generation, or industrial heating industries (or similar constant combustion processes)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering

  • Emissions experience for combustion system development

  • Gas Turbine Rection Flow experience (air / fuel mix combustion process) -CFD (ANSYS FLuent or CFX)
