Zions Bancorporation is looking for an experienced BAW Developer with a strong technical background to work on the implementation of automation solutions using IBM BAW (Business Automation Workflow) to join our Business Process Automation team.

The BAW Developer will work in an agile environment with other developers, scrum masters, product owners, technical analysts, and managers to communicate business and technical aspects of the BAW platform and projects, build technical designs, develop solutions, lead proof of concepts, and help with rollouts/implementations. The BAW Developer is responsible for analyzing, modifying, and supporting application software; Ensuring quality code is delivered through continuous integration, development, and testing; and performing technical design, coding, support, and documentation of software application modifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze BAW solution requirements and align solution designs with strategic direction, service level expectations, and current architecture.

  • Present process concepts to and collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Evaluate current solution, identifying challenges, issues, and holdups as well as including plans to address in roadmap.

  • Delivers technology solutions that support business goals. Partners with the product owner to understand business requirements, evaluates features, and translates application specifications into workable technical solutions.

  • Provide technical insights and encourage best practices and development standards.

  • Design and develop innovative solutions in collaboration with the business to meet their needs.

  • Maintain application software and systems. Ensures all projects and releases are appropriately tested and risks are mitigated.

  • Participate in all phases of the software development cycle from inception, design, development, implementation through post-production support following agile methodology.

  • Develop core system/integration components utilizing J2EE, JMS, XML, web services, etc.

    Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with IBM BPM/BAW

  • Experience in responsive coaches, app migrations and creating frameworks and utilities

  • Experience in working with Web Services – REST and SOAP

  • Detail oriented with excellent organization and analytical skills

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, project team members, supervisors, and employees

  • Ability to solve problems creatively to work through roadblocks

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Sciences, or a related field with 6+ years of directly related experience.

    Location:

    This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.

    The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus will be the company’s primary technology and operations center.
