ARAMARK SERVICES INC Prep Cook - Offshore in Midland, Texas

Scope: The Prep Cook is a training or skill assessment position designed to enable motivated and talented personnel to begin working in a cooking capacity while developing the skills necessary to be promoted into the cook position. The on-site manager (Camp Boss, Chef Manager, Cook) will conduct training and assessment. The general duties of the Prep Cook includes assisting immediate supervisor with meal preparations, to include: preparing vegetables (fresh and frozen); preparing side dishes; and assisting as necessary, with the salad bar preparations and a variety of fresh salads; menu planning and development; learning meat cutting techniques; and recipe usage. The Prep Cook is also to assist with maintaining galley cleanliness, to include washing pots, pans and dishes as necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include a variety of kitchen duties and skill sets; specific duties will vary, but at some time may involve some or all of the following duties:

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of nutritious, quality meals as directed by their immediate supervisor, to include:
  1. Assist with the preparation of the separate entrees for each meal.
  2. Assist with the preparation of side dishes for each meal.
  3. Assist with the preparation of fresh and frozen vegetables for each meal.
  4. Prepare soups, beans and rice for each meal.
  5. Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to/from work stations and break location, stove, and refrigerator.
  6. Provide oversight on salad bar preparations.
  7. Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils, segregates and removes refuse, and assists with the hygienic cleaning of garbage containers.
  8. Assist with the supervision and training of the Galley Hand as necessary.
  • Help maintain a balance of inventories of groceries by properly storing and rotating groceries and supplies.
  • Assist with the supervision of the Galley Hand to ensure proper sanitation and hygiene standards are being followed at all times while performing duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Attend regularly scheduled safety meetings, training, and other meetings to discuss company policies and client complaints, and to make recommendations to improve service to ensure a more efficient operation.
  • Age requirement due to offshore/safety.
