Dow, located in the Midland, MI Area,is seeking local qualified, highly committed individuals for cooperative education employment while the student is in their senior year of high school (2025-2026).  This program is for already-successful high school students who meet all of the listed requirements and can simultaneously succeed both in school and in a professional work environment.

This year we have several opportunities for Co-ops supportingManufacturing and Engineering, Human Resources, and Public Affairsgroups.

JOB PURPOSE

The high school positions provide basic support for various departments or buildings.  Positions are usually in office environments, but occasionally there is a need in a laboratory or production environment.  This opportunity gives the student exposure to several different roles, careers, environments and people while handling necessary entry-level work in support of the department.  This is also an opportunity to broaden interpersonal and time management skills since the Dow work environment is much different than home, school or most other work environments available to students.

These positions are primarily onsite. Any periodic remote work arrangements will be discussed between the co-op and their supervisor.

Key Job Responsibilities

Included, but not limited to:

  • Creating, reviewing, and updating new and existing user documentation.

  • Gathering program requirements and user feedback.

  • Computer work using Microsoft Office applications, file servers, internal websites, etc.

  • Paperwork or basic office responsibilities utilizing various equipment (copy machines, faxing, scanning, multi-line phones, etc.)

  • Errands and escorting visitors

  • Organizing, filing, stocking, and/or help with managing supply inventories

  • Willingness to do whatever is needed to assist the team with necessary work and changing priorities

Required & Preferred Qualifications

  • Student must be able to deliver a quality work product, pay attention to details, prioritize tasks, and follow through on details to completion.

  • Student must be efficient and productive and be able to keep up with deadlines committed to.

  • Student should be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done, ask for clarity or additional instruction when needed, and be able to work independently as well as cooperatively with the team.

  • Student should be flexible, cooperative and have a positive attitude.

Critical Requirements of the Local Student High School Co-Op Program

  • Must be 16 years of age or older

  • Must be a high school Senior during the upcoming school year that you’d be working

  • Seeking high performing student with strong GPAs of 3.000+is preferred

  • Able to begin work typically between June-Augst and work year-roundat least15 hours each week specifically between 8:00am and 12:00 noon OR 12:30pm – 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

  • Must live within 50 miles of the Dow site to which you are applying

  • Commit to the role forthe full academic year 

Your Skills:

  • Documentation: The ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive records of processes, procedures, and other important information. This skill ensures that all necessary details are captured and can be easily referenced by others.

  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. This skill involves creating and editing documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and managing emails efficiently.

  • Prioritization: The capability to assess tasks and determine their level of importance and urgency. This skill allows for effective time management and ensures that critical tasks are completed first, leading to increased productivity and efficiency.

  • Taking Initiative: The ability to proactively identify opportunities and take action without being prompted by others. This skill demonstrates a proactive attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond to achieve goals and solve problems.

  • Time Management: The skill of organizing and planning how to divide your time between specific activities. Good time management enables you to work smarter, not harder, ensuring that you get more done in less time, even when time is tight and pressures are high.

Additional Notes:
