Job Title: Fire Damage Technician

Job Summary: Our client has an opening for an entry level and experienced Fire Damage Restoration Technician who are responsible for handling new and ongoing damage claims with integrity and excellence. Duties will include: working in basements, living spaces, cleaning up smoke damage, organzing, inventory of items. This position will involve repetitive standing, bending, reaching, and squatting.

Location: Tri City Area, MI

Position Type: Monday--Friday, 7:30 am---4 pm

Pay: $14.00/hr

Schedule: Must be able to work overtime, with occasional weekends.

Key Responsibilities Could Include:

• Cleaning up smoke damaged items, rooms,etc.
• Move, pack, store, catalog, including household furnishings and other goods
• Communicate clearly with clients, managers, team members, and other parties
• Maintain a neat and orderly worksite and obey all safety rules and regulations in order to prevent work hazards

Fire Damage Technician Qualifications:

• Applicants must be reliable, customer-oriented and willing to be part of a team.
• Hiring honest people looking to work for an ethical business.
• Clean cut, organized person with positive attitude.
• Outstanding personal skills and the ability to think on your feet is a necessity.
• Must be an outgoing, personable individual who makes a good first impression with customers.
• Physically able to work in PPE including respiratory protection.

Fire Damage Technician Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have a general knowledge of a variety of basic topics, such as math, reading, typing, and computer functions
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
• Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
• Must be able to use basic hand tools, such as screwdriver, wrench, hammer crowbar, and power tools
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, stoop, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, and balance
• Must be able to perform each task wearing all of the required PPE devices, including full and half face respirators, Tyvek suit, rubber boots, eye protection and gloves
• Must be able to complete assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner
• Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Must be able to pass a background and drug screening
• Must be willing to learn new task/jobs
• Prior work experience in the restoration industry a plus
