Job Description

International Flavors and Fragrances Inc. is an industry leader in taste, scent and nutrition. IFF is seeking innovative, collaborative college students to participate in our Engineering Internship program at our IFF site in Midland, Michigan. IFF interns will have the opportunity to gain hands-on working experience while strengthening their professional skillset.

As an engineering intern you will spend your time…

• Provide support to production engineers in executing plant trials as well as production and maintenance troubleshooting.

• Perform data analysis to support plant improvement projects and identify areas for reducing downtime.

• Work closely with plant maintenance and operations resources to solve problems and keep the plant running smoothly

• Other opportunities involve exposure to root cause investigations (RCI), process hazard analyses (PHA)

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role you must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) while not attending classes. While attending classes, participants have the option to work on average 20 hours per week. We are looking for someone who is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Those pursuing a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering are preferred. Other skills we are looking for include:

• Ability to work safely and comply with all corporate/site EHS guidelines and policies

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Ability to work and complete projects independently, as well as within a team environment.

• Demonstrated interest in the pharmaceutical or food industry.
