Robert Half Payroll Analyst in Middletown, Pennsylvania

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Analyst to join our client in the Harrisburg, PA area. This role is focused on ensuring accurate and timely execution of payroll processes, HRIS reporting, and includes data analytics responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Serving as the subject matter expert for Workday HRIS, offering expert guidance on system usage, troubleshooting, and enhancements to optimize payroll functions

• Developing, maintaining, and analyzing Power BI dashboards to track and report on payroll metrics, trends, and performance indicators

• Overseeing the maintenance of payroll records, logs, and files in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations

• Managing tax reporting duties, including the accurate calculation and submission of federal, state, and local payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements

• Overseeing and managing garnishment processes, including court-ordered deductions, ensuring accurate and timely implementation in accordance with legal mandates

• Creating and maintaining reports, leveraging payroll data to support strategic decision-making, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Overseeing the processing of payroll check exceptions, ensuring that any discrepancies are resolved promptly and accurately

• Assisting with payroll system updates and integrations, collaborating with IT and other departments to ensure smooth implementation and minimal disruption to payroll operations

• Continuously identifying opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to optimize payroll operations.

Requirements

• Experience with HRIS Payroll System; Workday preferred

• Familiarity and experience with multi-state payroll processing

• Understanding of payroll taxes and related laws

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
