Responsibilities The Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Manager or Registered Pharmacist, shall assist with routine pharmacy responsibilities. These include, preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, preparing reports, managing automated systems, and maintaining records. They work only under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. They do not perform duties that legally can only be performed by a registered pharmacist. The compensation range for the role is $21.94 - $28.12 hourly Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity). Qualifications Minimum Education: High school Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of mathematical skills that include ability to perform complex weight and measure calculations as well as ability to perform percentages, division operations, and decimal point manipulation. General data entry skills as well as excellent written and verbal skills are a must. Required Certification/Registration: PTCB Certification and registered. Working Conditions: Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well- lighted, heated or ventilated facility. Some exposure to machinery, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. Frequent contact with co-workers, other Medical Center employees as well as incidental contact with patients, visitors and physicians. Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to carry objects and push and pull carts. Ability to lift 25lbs. Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates ability to handle frequent work interruptions and adapt to changes in their work environment and work schedule. Quick response capability to emergent requests. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or weekends to fulfill operational needs of the department as necessary.
