Robert Half Senior Data Engineer in Middletown, Connecticut

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer in Hartford County, Connecticut. This role entails managing and organizing data, as well as consulting with data analysts regarding view and report creation. You will also be responsible for providing technical expertise in implementing SaaS Platform using Matillion and solving challenging data-centric obstacles.

Responsibilities: • Assist in incorporating new data sources into the virtual data warehouse using Matillion, Python, Airflow, and AWS. • Consult with data analysts on creating views and reports. • Provide technical expertise in implementing the SaaS Platform using Matillion. • Use creative problem-solving and critical thinking approaches to troubleshoot challenging data-centric obstacles. • Analyze business requirements and scope of data transformation tasks. • Design and develop new ETL jobs using a standard framework. • Monitor ETL for notifications and resolve any corresponding errors. • Strong knowledge of SQL and Python programming languages. • Experience with Matillion, Airflow, and AWS, particularly Lambda, DMS, S3, and EC2. • Understanding of data warehousing principles, including data lake architecture. • Capable of writing reusable and maintainable code. • Able to work well with cross-functional teams and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Requirements • Proven experience in the role of a Data Engineer or similar role in Data Science

• Strong knowledge and experience in Matillion

• Excellent knowledge of SQL and other database solutions

• Familiarity with data architecture and data transformation

• Solid understanding of cloud services such as AWS or Google Cloud

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java

• Ability to work both independently and in a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is desirable

• Knowledge of data visualization tools is a plus

• Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot as necessary

• Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
