State of Massachusetts Residential Supervisor II in Middleboro, Massachusetts

TheDepartment of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking to fill a Residential Supervisor II position. The Residential Supervisor is responsible to supervise medically complex residential homes. The Residential Supervisor II at this location will oversee the state operated home for medically complex adults. In addition, the incumbent may be assigned an additional home to support the agency during long term absences, vacations etc. The incumbent when not covering additional homes will serve on agency committees, will participate in the interviewing and screening of new staff, and provide supervision and training to staff of a lower pay grade. * Duties and Responsibilities:* (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive.) * Supervision, training, evaluation, and scheduling of approximately 25 direct support staff. * Implement consumer individual service plans (ISP). * Provide direct support as needed to enhance the fulfillment of the consumer’s human rights, individual control, and community membership. * Monitor residential and consumer funds. * Oversee consumer health coordination with nursing supports. * Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Department regulations, policies, and procedures. _Please Note:_* * This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, the selected candidate will be required to report to work. The Residential Supervisor II position is in a program that operates 24-hours/7 days a week. Candidates must be flexible in their work schedule. The Department requires employees in this position to be able to perform Mandatory Overtime when circumstances dictate the need. _Preferred Qualifications: _ * Familiarity with Microsoft programs. * Experience working with individuals have Intellectual Disabilities; Skills using communication styles and/or augmentative communication systems. _Special Requirements:_ * Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. * Must possess current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License. _SCHEDULE Information:_ * Full-time – 40-hour weekly position - 1st and 2nd shift (Day & Evening Shift) * Day Shift - Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM * Late Shift - Wednesday - 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM. * Days off – Sunday and Monday * Flexibility with work schedule is required. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have (A) at least four (4) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in counseling, guidance, teaching or therapeutic services for individuals with developmental disabilities, of which (B) at least two (2) years must have been in a supervisory capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor’s degree with a major in social work, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, human services or education of people with physical and/or learning disabilities may be substituted for two (2) years of the required (A) experience. II. A Master’s or higher degree in social work, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, human services or education of people with physical and/or learning may be substituted for three (3) years of the required (A) experience.
