Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Material Handler to join our team. In this role, you will operate a sit-down, propane forklift to unload skids and drums off trailers, move received products to correct locations in the facility, and handle materials according to their labels and classifications. Specific duties include repackaging small aerosol containers, pouring liquid materials into larger storage drums, disposing of containers, reloading new pallets onto outbound trailers, and relabeling containers as necessary. Initially, you will handle non-hazardous materials such as batteries, aerosol cans, and propane cans. After transitioning to a direct role, you will learn to handle hazardous materials, including processing and storing them in our storage tank farm. You will also operate machinery to process and store containers.

Hard Skills

  • Operate a sit-down, propane forklift

  • Ability to lift 50-60 lbs

  • Read labels and attention to detail

  • Handle materials according to label and classification

  • Repackage small aerosol containers

  • Pour liquid materials into larger storage drums

  • Dispose of containers

  • Reload new pallets onto outbound trailers

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 120 Day(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Miamisburg, Ohio.

Work Environment

You will be working in a 30-acre facility with 75% of the work being outdoors and 25% indoors. The job involves handling hazardous waste and wearing full Tyvek suits and respirators at times. While on the contract period, you will only work with non-hazardous materials. The work environment includes hot and cold conditions, and you will need to wear full PPE including hard hats, long sleeve uniforms, steel toe boots, respirators (when necessary), and full Tyvek suits (when necessary). The shift is 1st Shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a starting pay of $18/hr and the potential for up to a $2 raise within a year depending on performance.
