The University of Miami is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Programs to work at Soffer Clinical Research Center in Miami. The incumbent oversees the day-to-day administrative management of assigned program(s) within the department and works to ensure the successful implementation of all initiatives. He/she operates with the goal of delivering high quality programs to the University faculty and staff and other key stakeholders. Furthermore, the Senior Manager, Programs serves as the liaison to leadership, faculty, students, and staff.

Core Job Functions

  1. Prepares, maintains, and reports on program effectiveness.2. Assists with managing program budget by monitoring expenditures.3. Stays abreast of market trends and legislation impacting program functions.4. Checks, verifies, organizes, and prepares grants, procurement, and other program-relevant documents.5. Supervises, monitors, trains, and evaluates program staff members to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures.6. Coordinates logistics for program events and activities.7. Works with other departments to increase program awareness.8. Identifies new needs and emerging issues and develops new programs, initiatives, and resources.9. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Department Specific Functions

This position will spearhead the DPHS Online Programs initiative and manage the process, tasks, and documentation/information requirements of various online program offerings. The individual will meet regularly with various stakeholders and update leadership on progress as well as identify any issues that need to be resolved to keep each project on track in meeting deliverables and deadlines.

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the DPHS online launch initiatives

  • Coordinate activities of the DPHS online initiatives to meet expected timelines.

  • Provides management support for the online leadership committee members.

  • Will be responsible for coordinating meetings for the online initiative leadership committee, the online advisory committee, and the online academic faculty committee.

  • Will also be responsible to coordinating meetings with the Third-Party vendors and Public Health Faculty and staff accordingly.

  • Will be responsible for keeping each member of the online initiative leadership committee, the online advisory committee, and the online academic faculty committee up to date on progress of pending and new items within their group responsibilities.

  • Will collaborate with Director of Finance to develop academic business plans for each online program proposal (degrees, certificates, professional development programs, etc.)

  • Will collaborate with Director of Finance to develop third party needs assessment based on services being provided and services required by our online programs launch and sustainability.

  • Will be working closely and collaboratively with the Sr Accreditation Director in Public Health, and the Executive Director in the Office of Graduate Studies on developing, writing, and preparing all academic online programs, certificates, and continuing education practicing professional program proposals for institutional submission, review, and approval.

  • This position will provide administrative support between the dept of Public Health educational programs and our three third-party online partners during the current selection vetting process.

  • Will be responsible for coordinating, collaborating, and co-writing the DPHS third-party partner proposal to submit to the Provost and Dean.
