Description Robert Half is looking for a diligent Sales & Use Tax Accountant for a contract position. This role is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

• Qualify potential candidates based on their expected pay and experience. • Work with large cities across all states, including the east coast, west coast, and Texas. • Improve processes within the Sales & Use tax department. • Identify, classify, and verify areas where tax is not being remitted correctly. • Ensure appropriate filing of tax exemptions. • Handle revenue streams that do not require parking tax. • Coordinate audits with advisors. • Use skills such as auditing, compliance, tax - sales & use, process improvement, and salt. • Have a minimum of 7 years of experience with S& U. • Have process and sales audit experience. Requirements • Possess a deep understanding of sales and use tax accounting principles.

• Demonstrated competence in auditing procedures and practices.

• Strong familiarity with compliance regulations in sales and use taxation.

• Proven ability in process improvement initiatives within an accounting context.

• Knowledge of SALT (State and Local Tax) procedures and requirements.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Tax Accountant (CTA) designation is a plus.

• A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced business environment.
