The Program Manager, Social Services, will be responsible for implementing overall strategies, policies and monitoring goals. The manager will provide goal oriented solutions within various segments, in order to meet established objectives with in the Manager's coverage area. This manager will serve as liaison for all communication between various offices and the central office and will also oversee and track expenditures for travel planning, reimbursements and equipment. The manager will travel extensively through the state of Florida.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinates internal and external resources for a flawless execution of programs.

  • Ensures resource availability and appropriate allocation.

  • Ensures that all program objectives and deadlines are met within scope and budget.

  • Assists department leadership in defining program scope and objectives.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility.

  • Develops a plan to monitor and track program progress.

  • Measures program performance using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Manages changes to the program scope, schedule, and costs, using appropriate verification processes.

  • Reports concerns, program status, and progress to appropriate managing staff.

  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.

  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; Master’s degree in the social science or psychology field preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required

  • Experience working with behavioral health organizations and/or in the behavioral field is preferred. Familiarity with Epic is highly preferred.

Department Specific Functions

The University of Miami Department of Psychiatry has been contracted by the Florida Department of Health to provide behavioral health and psychiatric consultation services to selected pediatric primary care practices in the community. The Behavioral Health Hub will provide mental and behavioral health expertise and support to pediatric sites through comprehensive practice transformation services. This includes trainings, technical assistance, telepsychiatry consults (eg. psychiatrists and psychologists), and care coordination/management to advance patient-centered care and quality improvement. The Program Manager Social Services will be the administrative contact for the Florida Department of Health BHH grant who will plan, implement, evaluate, and monitor the program under the direction of the Program Director and will be responsible for the adherence to the contract deliverables.

  • Manages program operations for the BHH, such as enrolling new community pediatric providers and registering provider-to-provider consultations in UChart.

  • Is the point-of-contact for billing compliance and implementing UChart surveys and pediatric health screens in CHADIS.

  • Ensures training curriculum for pediatric providers on a quarterly basis. Collaborates with CME Director and Program Director on ongoing topics.

  • Is knowledgeable of core activities, projects, schedule; Understands the core’s programmatic priorities and activities, and prepares documents and presentations on strategic initiatives. Provides programmatic coordination; identify redundancies and opportunities for collaboration with the State and Regional Hubs and resource sharing; recommends changes regarding program activities and procedures as needed.

  • Develops and cultivates relationships and partnerships with various external entities, collaborators, managed plans, and behavioral health organizations to further department functions. Ability to conduct onsite visits and meetings in the South Florida region.

  • Assists with core website, including reviewing, writing, and updating content; compliance with University branding, practices, and procedures; etc.
