Summary: The PMA Certification Engineer performs and coordinates regulatory compliance activities required for the development of PMA parts for commercial and transport category aircraft. The Certification Engineer has principal responsibility for ensuring all aspects of product and system-level certification are compliant with applicable and appropriate airworthiness requirements.

• Holding an active DER License would be a great plus.

• Prior Engineering Management experience is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support required activities to create, submit and maintain Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) by test and computation or identicality.

• Develop, review, approve and release Certification documents to specify requirements that establish compliance with the applicable airworthiness requirements.

• Support required activities to create DER repairs by creating repair procedure and required drawings.

• Review and approve engineering drawings and documents regarding compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.

• Perform Safety Assessments such as for product Functional Hazard Assessments (FMEA Analysis)

• Interface with regulatory authorities as required for certification issue resolution and status updates.

• Advise management on air worthiness related issues regarding the design and manufacturing of our product.

• Write and review Qualification Test Plans, Procedures and Test Reports.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• Participate in industry, customer and regulatory authority meetings as assigned by management.

• Conduct internal audits, prepare audit reports, and manage corrective action activities.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years related aerospace certification experience.

• Experience defining test programs, writing test plans/reports and administering testing for qualification of aircraft components/systems.

• Experience with designing, manufacturing and certifying aircraft components and systems.

• Understanding of the certification process and requirements of FAA 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 21, 23 and 25.

• In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Experience with PMA, STC and Minor Change approval processes.

• Experience working in an AS9100 quality environment.
