Actalent Assistant Project Manager in Miami, Florida

Job Description:

Currently seeking a construction professional to join our team as an Assistant Project Manager. This person will be responsible for supporting the Head of Construction and COO, to ensure the company delivers a high quality, cost effective and timely project. They will report to the COO, as well as interfacing with the Head of Construction, Superintendents, and subcontractors. Projects consist of new retail/restaurant construction, as well as capital improvement and maintenance projects on their 125 existing properties.

Preconstruction:

  • Assist in preparation and management of bid packages

  • Maintain bid list and confirm Subcontractor participation

  • Subcontractor prequalification

  • Maintenance of company Subcontractor database

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in development of Owner proposals

  • Maintain and organize preconstruction documents, including drawings and supplemental bid documents

Operations:

  • Maintain project logs (i.e. Submittal Log, RFI log, etc.)

  • Maintain and update schedules

  • Identify need for and write RFIs

  • Prepare, review and process shop drawings

  • Maintain as-built drawings

  • Purchase Order and Subcontract Scope analysis and drafting

  • Material purchasing and expediting

  • Document management and distribution

  • Value engineering design and proposals

  • Coordinating with Subcontractors and Vendors

  • Visits project sites to monitor progress conformance to plans and standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in building construction or Engineering (or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience)

  • Prefer at 1 year of experience in commercial construction, but will consider entry level candidates with a relevant bachelors degree.

  • Computer software experience: Bluebeam, Procore, Timberline, Microsoft Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point

  • Understanding of AIA Contract Documents

  • Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities important

  • Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings, and other construction documents

  • Ability to travel to project sites, out of state, for a few days at a time. 30% travel required.
